Sell Yourself, not the products.

For many years of my selling life, i keep thinking of how to sell my product and services. I keep thinking how to describe the product features and benefits to my customers.
For some cases, it does work especially for your friend who knows you. When you share the product benefit to the people who knows you , you most likely will get the deal.
But when i use the same method talk to the people whom i nto close or dont know. I just doesn't works. what and where is the problem.
For years i can't break through this.

Finally, i realised that why people buy from you? Most likely because they trust you. Why a people do not buy from you? Because they do not trust you. That simple.

When you try to sell a product to a stranger , you should gain trust from him from the conversations. If the person like you and start to trust you, most likely he will buy from you when you tell the benefits of the product. Else, you have no way selling to this person no matter how good your product is. right?

I have 1 good example. An insurance agent try to approcah me. when we start the conversation, he keep attacking his competitor. and the way i look at him is he is not honest. Thus, though the product is useful and good for me. I had made a decision where i won't buy from him. I may look for another agents if i decided to buy the products.

So, try to sell yourself to your customer before selling your products. I follow this rule and start to build relationship with strager, incredibility, i close almost every sales.... Do you believe thats simple?
